Jelani Weekes

Divisional Music Director

Jelani Weekes was born and raised in New York City and attended the Salvation Army all his life. Music was a natural gift to him, and he was giving lessons at a young age and had the opportunity to play in various groups such as Greater New York Youth Band, Youth Chorus, and the world-famous New York Staff Band. In 2019, he was giving the opportunity to work as a Beaver County Music School Director in Western Pennsylvania for the Salvation Army. His title shifted into Regional Music Coordinator in 2020 and he did that for 4 years. In May of 2023, he moved to Ohio to be the Assistant Divisional Music & Arts Director. He married his wife Hannah in 2024 and was shortly then promoted to Divisional Music Director.

Chaya Jugenheimer

Divisional Creative Arts Director

For as long as she can remember, Chaya was a part of Salvation Army Music & Arts programs, where she fell in love with using her gifts to as forms of worship. Growing up, Chaya regularly attended corps & divisional dance practices, went to TAM, and later became a member of MOVE Dance Company. Chaya received her bachelor's degree in Inclusive Childhood Education with a concentration in Communications from Houghton University. She has always had a heart for teaching and loves sharing her passion for dance, drama, and fine arts with youth around NEOSA!
